| Anna Paquin, a New Zealand-Canadian film actress and actor, is most well-known for her roles in films such as The PianoFly Away Home and X-Men. She entered the world of acting at the age of 11 when she appeared in The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy AwardforBest Actress as a support role. Her fate was in her hands. She didn't plan to become an actor, but it did. After her successful debut in the industry, she was contacted by several companies, however she refused their offers to pursue her studies. After her debut film was a success when she was just 14, she was offered roles in Jane Eyreand the Fly Away Homefilms series. In 2000 she played the formidable mutant Roguein the XMen films series. The role she played on catapulted to international fame. She was cast in the same role as Roguein sequels such as X2 and X-Men The Last Stand. She also played small screen roles including Bury My Heart At Wounded Kneeforwhich she earned her first Emmy award. She soon received opportunities to be part of TV shows and she was cast in shows like True Bloodand Flack. |
